Bear-ly Wait Baby Shower

We can Bear-ly Wait

As soon as I saw this Bear-ly Wait Baby Shower range I knew it would be perfect for a blog post to accompany it & I had to do one as soon as I could. I could bear-ly wait and couldn’t contain my excitement, as like I have previously mentioned, I do love a theme. So now the wait is over lets get started…

This range predominately features a Bear holding bunting that says 'It's a Boy', in a woodland environment, with plenty of trees and natural inspired colours, which is offset against a dark blue, almost green.  The bear also has some friendly woodland friends with him including a cute fox and squirrel.

I do love a theme and this range could be styled with a variety of items, put alongside to compliment the nature that is featured in this range. This could include using wood slices, leaves, pine cones and acorns as well as plenty of fresh greenery. This time of year is perfect for that & it is a great opportunity to go outdoors on a walk and find things that could go alongside the party products.

You could include the outdoor feel through a variety of items for the Baby Shower. You could add touches of the outdoors to a sweet table or even make your own nature inspired decorations.

I saw this sign on a Google search and thought it would be perfect for this range – especially as it features a bear and fox.

This range screams Autumn and as we are now entering that time of this year, this range  would be perfect for upcoming baby showers.

Plus, Autumn time and colder days, what could be more perfect then a Hot Chocolate bar? I personally love this idea of a Hot Chocolate Bar, especially as the mum to be won’t be able to drink alcohol so this is a great alternative. Plus it is suitable for all ages – young and old.

You could make up a batch of regular hot chocolate and then have various additions, that people can use to top it and pimp it to their taste.

You can include a variety of toppings. What about:

  • Mini & regular Marshmallows
  • Whipped Cream
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Grated Chocolate
  • Cinnamon
  • Chocolate chips
  • Orange Zest
  • Selection of sauces: Chocolate, caramel

You could also make your own Hot Chocolate with real Chocolate, for added luxury.

Create this by melting your chocolate of choice in a mix of double cream and milk. You could also create a few batches using a variety of different types of chocolate.

I styled a naming day with a similar woodland feel and these ideas or something similar could be used alongside this range also.

I combined natural products with props that fitted in within the theme. Including cuddly toys and also story books that had characters that would be at home in the forest, including The Gruffalo. I also used a fake grass table runner across the table and then placed everything on top.

A children table was also styled and kept within the theme. By sourcing woodland animal masks and also using a jar of the wild flowers and a very effective red balloon with white dots to resemble a toadstool.

I displayed wild flowers in jam jars to follow on with the natural theme. I also made this stick vase. I used an empty tin can and I decorated with sticks that I collected while out on a walk.

I just used a hot glue gun to glue the sticks directly onto the tin. I used a variety of sizes to help with the natural feel, then finished it with a jute twine bow.

Favours also followed the theme by making individual gingerbread owl cookies. All placed within  wicker style tray and finished with a jute and lace bow.

A few of my favourite items from the range

Bear-ly Wait Supershape Balloon - £5.99
Bear-ly Wait Table Decorating Kit - £5.99
Bear-ly Wait Plates - £2.59

We hope you have enjoyed reading this blog, as much as we have writing it.

If you have a friend or a family member who is expecting a baby boy and can bear-ly wait to meet him, then please share this with them.

A totally EPIC party

Epic Party ideas | How to throw an EPIC Birthday Party

BOYS…Boys will always be boys & throwing them a party can be tricky. They are always changing their minds. What they like is always changing at a moments notice & as parents you are always the last to be told. But are meant to bet the first to know that they haven’t liked whatever since last week!!

As they get older, it gets even harder to throw them a birthday party.  Deciding on a particular theme can be difficult. They are to old for the classic Pirates or Cowboys, so choices can be limited. But not now, now there is EPIC.

EPIC combines all that boys love. It includes: fast food, gaming, hashtags, emojis just to mention a few.  Combined all in one party theme. The theme has coordinating tableware & decorations that are designed perfectly for older boys. The range can be a great starting part for the start of a totally EPIC party. You can add your own touches, like decoration, party games etc for your very own totally epic party.

We have shared a few of our own EPIC party ideas for you…

Epic party ideas food

EPIC Party Food ideas

The EPIC range is filled with all things fast! So when you are thinking about food to serve at the party – this is a great place to start. Think burgers, chips, pizza & put together build your own.

Have a table set up with burger buns, lettuce, ketchup, cheese & other toppings so they can build their burger their own way.

Or your very own pizzeria – with ready made bases, selection of cheeses, meat products: ham, hot-dogs, pepperoni & few vegetables…(might not be used)

Then have some chips & sauce to go alongside your epic food.

EPIC Party Decoration ideas

When it comes to older boys less is more when it comes to decorations. So make your decorations stand out & create a big impact.

Balloons are great. They create a massive impact & straight away they say party.

A birthday banner is always a good decoration & helps celebrate the occasion & you can get those that coordinate to carry on the theme & create even more of an impact.

A few balloons & a banner really is all you need for an older boys birthday.

EPIC Party Favour ideas

Everybody loves a favour, something to take home with them. You just need to take into consideration the ages of those attending,

There not just for young children & why should they be. What to put in them gets a bit tricky though.

So why not think more EPIC…how about a game voucher or some XBOX points or a mini toy dart gun or a gumball machine. Just need to think outside the box to think of something that they would enjoy.

Or how about getting them to make their own slime to take home? Slime is so popular lately & could be a great activity for them to do at the party & to take home with them as well. Double EPIC!

Gender Reveal Party

Gender Reveal Party

Gender Reveal Party | will it be a boy or a girl

Finding out the gender of a baby must be a very exciting time for parents. Some couples wait until the baby is born to find out the gender. But some parents are happy to share this information with their nearest and dearest via a Gender Reveal or a Gender Reveal Party.

Baby Shower Ideas

Baby Shower Ideas

Baby Showers are an increasing trend, that is becoming more and more popular following on from the American tradition.  They are the celebration of a soon to be arrival of a new baby.  The mother to be is “showered” with gifts for herself and the baby as well. A baby shower is traditionally organised by a close friend and is normally held 4-8 weeks before the due date.

Showers were traditionally held for the first baby and only women were invited – both these traditions are slowly been broken. Showers for the mum and dad are growing and I can imagine these really beginning to take off.

Hello Summer!

Hello Summer!

hello summer

Summer has to be one of the best times of year. The sun is hopefully shining, days are longer, the flowers are in bloom. Everything seems better.  People are generally more happier (probably the increase in Vitamin D) plus in the evenings the distinct smell of Barbecues fill the air.
