Things at Party Ease HQ have been a bit different and slightly mad the last few months…
This is due to us been working on a charity event. With the theme of course been Alice in Wonderland!
We had the pleasure of been introduced to Charlie from With Love From Oakley last year. Party Ease helped with the decorations for the fundraising Ball. When Charlie got in touch this year with regards to the decorations for this years ball we was happy to help. The ball is in November and we both thought that an Alice theme was more suited to the Summer time…after several conversations we decided to work together on organising an Easter event and raise money for the Charity and also incorporate the Alice in Wonderland theme.
So, now we had a theme it was time for the planning to commence.
We knew that we wanted to have an egg hunt as it was to be held around Easter time so we needed a venue that would be able to accommodate this and was pleased that the first venue we approached (and the one we had our (queen of) hearts set on was available. The venue we choose was Springfield House in Stevenage, Hertfordshire for its nice sized room and more so for the totally enclosed garden – which is totally beautiful! We also wanted everything to echo the theme (people that know me will know that I LOVE a theme!) This included: A Mad Hatters Treat Table, A Queen of Hearts Craft table, a Cheshire Cat raffle – even the tickets had Alice names, there was also other details sneakily added in to compliment and follow the theme throughout the entire day.
After weeks of planning and incredibly generous donations from local businesses, friends and family we finally had everything in place for a truly Wonder-ful event.
Welcome to wonderland
On the day the sun was shining and was absolutely perfect – we couldn’t of asked for better.
We had many families attend who had purchased Alice themed tickets and came along and found the numbered plastic eggs on the hunt filled with Easter treats, once
found they then came and received chocolate Easter egg also.
‘Alice’ even came to visit! We can not recommend her enough – she was fantastic! Playing in the garden with the children and entertaining the children throughout the day. Check out With Love from a Princess for more details.
Throughout the day we had many who made their own masterpieces at the Queen of Hearts craft table that was filled with Easter stickers, feathers, confetti as well as some colouring sheet characters from the Disney film.
Lots of sugar was consumed by young and old at the treat table – it was completely filled with delicious treats that included: marshmallows, smarties, jelly beans and many more sweets, tray bakes including brownies and also a fab bunny make by The Cake Meister and how could we not mention an impressive Mad Hatters Top Hat Cake – that was kindly donated by Allison Cullen from Bouncy Bakes.
We have since received some brilliant feedback from those who came along and have even been asked if it will be an annual event!
Well who knows what will happen in the future…but we will be sure to keep you posted!
